CMS2010 system Requirements

The following system requirements are needed in order to install and run each version of the CMS200x Content Management System.

Regardless of the version of CMS200x you use, your end user web site can be published in almost any language which supports ODBC connectivity.  These include .NET, iHTML, Cold Fusion, ASP, PHP, PERL, Python and others.  However, the CMS2010 Enterprise and CMS2005.NET features are best utilized when the web sites are developed in .NET.

 
CMS2010 Enterprise and CMS2005.NET

CMS200x Content Management Interface:
You use the CMS2010 and CMS2005 Content Management Interfaces to build and manage your Web Sites from a client PC of the server installed with the CMS2005 Enterprise software. To run the interface, clients must meet the following minimum requirements:

Content Authors, Approvers and Publishers

  • Microsoft Windows® 98 or higher
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher recommended
  • Popup Blocking software disabled for the CMS2005 Administrative web site

Web Server (Staging, Live and Administrative web sites):

  • Microsoft Windows® 2000 Server SP3 w/ IIS 5.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP3 w/ IIS 5.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Web Server w/ IIS 6.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Server w/ IIS 6.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2008 Web Server w/ IIS 7.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise Server w/ IIS 7.0
  • FTP Server (used for uploading images through the CMS2005 and CMS2010)
  • Microsoft® .NET Framework 1.1 or higher

Database Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server® 2000 or higher
    (The SQL server does not need to be located on the same server as the CMS200x Administrative interface or web site. Database connectivity through firewall(s) and proxy servers on port 1433 must be available.)

Developer/Integrator Platform

  • Microsoft® .NET Framework 1.1 or higher
  • Microsoft® Web Matrix OR
  • Visual Studio .NET 2002 or higher

CMS2003 Content Management Interface:
You use the CMS2003 Content Management Interface to build and manage your Web Sites from a client PC of the server installed with the CMS2003 Professional software. To run the interface, clients must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher
  • PC platform only.

Web Server:

  • Microsoft Windows® 2000 Server SP3 w/ IIS 5.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP3 w/ IIS 5.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Web Server w/ IIS 6.0
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Server w/ IIS 6.0
  • iHTML Enterprise Plus 2.20 or higher

Database Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000
